Here are a few do’s & don’ts to insure that you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
DO
- Get plenty of rest
- Eat well balanced meals. Aim for five or six meals a day to include, fruits, vegetables. whole grain and lean proteins
- Make water your beverage of choice to stay hydrated
- Take a prenatal vitamin
- Make sure you find an OBGYN and go to every scheduled appointment
- Get moderate exercise
- Maintain good hygiene
DON’T
- Smoke or vape
- Don’t drink any alcoholic beverages or use any drugs
- Drink excessive amounts of caffeine
- Eat raw or undercooked meat and fish
- Drink unpasteurized milk, cheese and other dairy products
- Eat foods high in mercury like fish, shark, swordfish or tuna
- Stress…I know that one is hard
