Are you concerned for your health or the health of the fetus because of a medical diagnosis?

Are you being pressured to abort because of a medical diagnosis?

The following is a story that we heard recently at the center.

Sarah* was married at age 16 and had lost a baby a year and half into their marriage. They were devastated and wanted a baby desperately.  Her husband was stationed out of the United States with the military when they finally got pregnant again, three and half years later.  During her first trimester, she contracted an illness that could cause birth defects such as, mental retardation, heart defects, blindness, liver and spleen damage, to name a few.

Six doctors met with Sarah and her husband and advised them to abort the baby.  They advised her to leave and go back to the states, specifically to New Jersey where they would be able to perform an abortion. She was against this decision.

Sarah decided not to abort.  She delivered a healthy little girl.  That baby is now 56 years old and works hard in their family business.  Sarah said if they had listened to those six doctors, she would not have her daughter and three beautiful grandchildren.

According to Medical News Today 1-3% of all abortions are performed for medical reasons.  Your circumstances may seem overwhelming and there’s no hope.  It’s important to get all the facts and do your own research because knowledge is power and miracles do happen.
