Why Should I Get Married?

It seems couples are living together before marriage more than ever.  Is that a wise decision?  Let’s look at the pros and cons of MARRIAGE VS LIVING TOGETHER.

MARRIED PEOPLE…

LIVING TOGETHER…

Marriage is a big step, but was designed by God in the Garden of Eden. Marriage shows that you are committed to this relationship and even though it’s not always easy you put in the hard work to make it work.

Married people tend to feel better about themselves and are generally happier than unmarried people.

Another perk of being married vs living together is the financial stability.  Married men are more successful at work and right or wrong, are promoted more than unmarried men. Married women also earn more than unmarried, typically.  Other factors concerning the financial benefits are healthcare and insurance breaks and inheritance rights.

40 percent of women say their sex life is emotionally and physically satisfying and 50 percent for men.

From a personal standpoint, my spouse and I have complete different personalities, thankfully!!  J

I’m a worrier and sweat the small stuff.  He is not!!  I’m sure I drive him absolutely crazy sometimes, but I know he’ll always be there for me to calm me down and talk me through my craziness.  We walk side by side and every decision made in our home is done together.  This is done out of respect and support for each other.  Our marriage hasn’t always been a bed of roses by any means, but because of the commitment we made almost 48 years ago together, we have made it work and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

So, when I sit back and study the pro and cons, I think married life definitely out-weighs the other.   I hope you will weigh them too and choose marriage.
