Regulations have recently changed in Missouri regarding abortion.

Currently –

Missouri does not have a waiting period.

If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must give permission to get an abortion.

Abortion in Missouri is legal until “viability”.  Viability is the stage of pregnancy when a fetus has developed enough and is able to survive.  An ultrasound can confirm fetal viability. This can be different for every pregnancy.

Those are just some of the laws in Missouri, but for your health and safety, an abortion is not something to mess around with.  It’s imperative that you get an ultrasound to determine that you are not having a miscarriage and that the pregnancy is not a tubal pregnancy.

Recently a young woman came into our center who was wanting an abortion and she was having cramping.  The ultrasound revealed that her pregnancy wasn’t going to continue and her body was going to naturally pass the fetus.  She didn’t have to go through an abortion procedure. It wasn’t needed.

At Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of Neosho, we are here to answer any questions you might have regarding abortion, to do an ultrasound to determine viability and to just be here for you as you navigate through this life change.  All our services are free and confidential.
